New Trash Service
At the August Fairfield Township Board
Meeting a new trash program was approved to provide the township
residents with a weekly, fairly inexpensive way to dispose of their
household trash. It was also decided that residents would be charged
the same price the township is pay for these services with no
additional service charge added, which is being added and collected in
some communities. It was noted that this trash service will NOT REPLACE OUR ANNUAL TRASH DAY, which will be held again next year.
The Township contracted with Allied Waste Services to purchase
1000 green trash bag stickers for the price of $2 each. Residents may
purchase these stickers at the township office during office hours or
send a check by mail and the stickers will be sent back to you with
your pickup day information. Each sticker purchased for $2 enables
residents to set our one trash bag, weighing no more than 50 lbs.,
along the roadside for pickup on either Tuesday or Friday. Those that
have already used the service are very happy with it!
